Private Yoga Sessions

Happy Place Yoga offers customized private yoga sessions designed to support your lifestyle and personal needs. We’ll discuss upfront what you hope to gain from private yoga and each session will be structured accordingly.

While Natalie loves building relationships, she doesn’t look to maintain long-term clients. Her goal is always to set her students up for empowered yoga and wellness journeys of their own.

With that in mind, Happy Place Yoga offers two private yoga package options - 5 and 8 sessions. Both packages include an initial phone or Zoom consultation to establish intentions. All new clients will also complete an intake survey prior to their first session. In many cases, 5 or 8 sessions may provide a sufficient foundation for students to move on with their own home practice. For folks who want more ongoing one-on-one attention, Natalie is happy to offer additional sessions as needed.

8 session package
Initial 30 minute phone/zoom consultation
Initial 90 minute yoga session
Seven 60 minute support sessions

5 session package
Initial 30 minute phone/zoom consultation
Initial 90 minute yoga session
Four 60 minute support sessions

Who can benefit from Private Yoga Sessions?

Truly anyone. Especially folks dealing with conditions that get in the way of everyday well-being. Private yoga sessions are a great place to start for total beginners. You don't need to have any yoga experience or any special attributes like flexibility. Natalie has worked with folks who are recovering from strokes, managing chronic illness, mental health challenges, and/or structural issues. And virtually everyone she works with appreciates the stress-reducing benefits of yoga.

Is there anyone for whom HPY Yoga Sessions aren’t a great fit?

Again, absolutely anyone can benefit from yoga. However, there are some circumstances that lie outside of Natalie’s area of expertise. For instance, she does not have specialized training in prenatal yoga. If you have any concerns about whether private yoga sessions will be a good fit for you, please feel free to contact Natalie with questions.

Where do HPY Private Yoga Sessions take place?

Natalie can meet you at your home or guide you via a virtual session. Establishing a special place in your home can really help support your ongoing practice, so you might want to consider where you could create a clean, mostly distraction-free zone at home. If you would prefer in-person sessions at your home, please contact Natalie to make sure that your location is within HPY's service area.

What should I expect during my Private Yoga Sessions?

We will always spend some time at the beginning and end of each session chatting - catching up and talking about progress. Typically, for the bulk of the session, we’ll practice breathing mindfully, brief meditations, and yoga movements/poses. The intensity of those practices may vary depending on your needs and goals, but we may be situated in chairs, on the floor/yoga mats and/or resting with props. Private sessions are not usually structured as formally as a typical yoga “class”, so there is always opportunity to pause, ask questions, and make specific requests. We might also occasionally do more unexpected things like drawing or singing. Natalie is always happy to provide ambient music in the background during your session. If you have any relaxing music you really like, we can use that too.

When can I schedule my sessions?

Happy Place Yoga offers simple, flexible scheduling options. Once you have purchased a package, you'll receive a code to schedule your sessions online. You are welcome to set up sessions at regular/recurring intervals (weekly, biweekly, monthly) or whenever it's convenient for you. 24 hour notice is required for all appointments and cancellations.

What happens after I use up my package?

You very well might feel set to embark on your own home practice after your initial sessions are up. You might also choose to add more sessions - additional sessions can be purchased individually. You may also be interested in further developing and refining your lifestyle with a Wellness Routine Consultation package. This supportive service takes a deeper dive into daily lifestyle habits and offers tips on how to improve health and happiness.

What if I’m interested in Private Yoga Sessions but I can’t afford them?

Happy Place Yoga is very happy to facilitate a Community Funded Yoga program. To receive free yoga services or to go on the waiting list, please fill out this form.

Can I use Private Yoga Sessions for more than one person?

Private yoga sessions are custom designed for one student and may not be shared. If you would like to do couples yoga or yoga with a friend, please sign up for a Group Yoga Class. Those classes can still be customized to your interests and needs, but are not focused one-on-one.

Can I buy a Private Yoga package for someone else?

Absolutely! Giving the gift of yoga is a great idea - you might want to be sure your recipient is generally open to the idea first though. You’ll receive a package code when you purchase a package that can be shared with your recipient to schedule sessions.

Are there other ways I can share yoga?

Yes! Please consider giving to the Community Yoga Fund. Even small donations go a long way in helping to make yoga more accessible to folks who might not otherwise have access.
