Who can host/participate in Group Yoga Classes?

Anyone! The person coordinating the class(es) with HPY should be able to provide basic logistics and other group preferences/details. Themes and class focus/style can be customized to suit your group's needs. Group yoga class participants don't need to have any yoga experience or special attributes like flexibility. Natalie embraces a "come as you are" attitude. The stress reducing capabilities of yoga practice are nearly universal, so feel free to invite anyone who might be interested.

Is there anyone for whom Group Yoga Classes aren’t a great fit?

Again, absolutely anyone can benefit from yoga. However, there are some circumstances that lie outside of Natalie’s area of expertise. For instance, she does not have specialized training in prenatal yoga. If you have any concerns about whether the yoga class you have in mind will be a good fit, please feel free to contact Natalie with questions.

Where are Group Yoga Classes held?

In virtually all circumstances, group classes are held at your location. Please contact Natalie to make sure you location is within HPY's service area before making a purchase. If you have concerns about hosting a yoga class at your location or you are outside of the service area, please contact Natalie to determine other arrangements.

What do I need to host a Group Yoga Class?

A clear, open space with enough room for as many people as you are expecting. Preferably this space is fairly clean and quiet with minimal distractions. If you would like to host a chair yoga class, you'll need sturdy stationary chairs with no arms available. For mat-based classes, you could provide mats for your participants or they can bring their own (HPY also has a small number of mats that may be used if needed). A sound system or speaker accessible by an auxillary cord or bluetooth is great if you have it available.

What should we expect during our Group Yoga Classes?

Natalie will arrive 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Please have your space/room cleared and set up by this time. Natalie will provide ambient background music for the class and make any other final preparations. As participants enter the class, they will sign a waiver and then get comfortable on a mat or in a chair. The start of each class typically begins with a centering, meditiation, and/or guided breath practice. After some gentle warm-up movements, we might build to a more active yoga practice, then a cooling wind down. The final minutes of a yoga class are usually spent resting quietly. The exact nature of your class might vary some depending on how you choose to customize. Natalie will stay after class for another 15 minutes to answer questions and wrap things up.

What kind of yoga class can we offer?

There are many different styles of yoga movement practices. Natalie is an experienced teacher of yin, gentle, hatha, flow, and chair yoga classes. She is also super passionate about guiding rest-focused classes like restorative yoga and yoga nidra. Natalie is also able to offer therapeutically-themed classes like yoga for stress reduction or healthy digestion. Groups with multiple classes are welcome to vary class styles as desired.

Can we have a special theme or focus for our class?

Absolutley. Natalie enjoys weaving the principals of yoga and ayurveda into her classes in approachable, interesting ways. If you have ideas that you would like to incorporate, please discuss them during your phone consult.

When can we scheulde our classes?

HPY offers simple and flexible scheduling options. Once you have purchased a package, you'll receive a code to schedule your classes online. For all package types, you will schedule your phone consult first. A single class can then be booked for the day of your event or class. With a class pack, you are welcome to set up classes at regular/recurring intervals (weekly, biweekly, monthly) or whenever it's convenient for your schedule. Yoga for a Year packages are designed to be scheduled as regular, recurring weekly classes. 24 hour notice is required for all appointments and cancellations.
